The Story Behind the GX2 Power

When I set out to create the GX2 Power, my goal was clear: to create a powerful paddle with incredible control —  Mastered Power. True power goes beyond hitting hard — it’s about controlling the energy, having the right feedback, and knowing exactly where the ball is going. Mastered Power is raw dynamic force, where explosive speed meets the precision of fine-tuned control. To achieve this I reconfigured and suspended our CarbonRibCore™ from the frame to increase dwell time, maximize power, and maintain a direct connection between the player and paddle. 

I wanted Mastered Power — smart power that gives players control over every shot, whether it’s a powerful baseline drive, a precise reset, an aggressive dink with spin, a delicate touch dink, or a punch volley. To achieve this, I optimized the internal carbon fiber rib core, adjusting the fiber orientation, fiber density, and foam pressure in each rib module. This fine-tuning enhances feedback, power, and control, creating a paddle that connects with the player and responds precisely to each shot.

I also reconfigured the swing weight to improve hand speed, while increasing the twist weight for stability. This adjustment creates the perfect balance — giving players a larger sweet spot for consistent power and control, even on off-center hits.
